A fuel record

On 1 June, 100,000 tons (US short tons) of fuel were flown to Berlin. After using fuel barrels for the transport in the first weeks of the airlift, more professional means for moving the fuel had to be found. English bombers were converted into tankers, and they took on the job of transporting fuel from then on. The 100,000 ton were flown to Berlin by a civil British Lancastrian.
