Handley-Page Hastings

The Hastings was a four-engined British transport aircraft, developed during and immediately after the Second World War. Its introduction to RAF service was accelerated due to the Berlin Airlift, and in November 1948 Hastings aircraft joined the operation. The Hastings fleet flew a wide range of essential supplies – including food and coal - into Berlin. The Hastings now on display at the RAF Museum’s Midlands site was one of these aircraft.
