Men of the Berlin Airlift

The Berlin Airlift was not without cost. The dedication and professionalism of the men behind the Airlift is manifest not only in overcoming the Soviet Blockade, but also in the competency and professionalism they demonstrated. Despite the tremendous numbers of flights into and out of Berlin, there were relatively few accidents. Though tragic when they occurred, the regimented airlift model provided the stability that allowed the aircrews to safely complete their mission.
